Standup comedian Sasheer Zamata received improv and sketch training from the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and has performed at clubs, colleges, and festivals across the country including Bonnaroo, SXSW, New York Comedy Festival, and Women in Comedy Festival, among others. She has been listed in Cosmopolitan’s ’13 Funny Women to Watch,’ Time Out New York’s ‘Top 10 Funniest Women in NYC,’ Brooklyn Magazine’s ’50 Funniest People in Brooklyn,’ and Complex’s ‘Women in Comedy You Should Be Paying Attention to Right Now.’ In 2017, Sasheer released her first one-hour comedy special Pizza Mind to rave reviews. She currently stars in the ABC sitcom Home Economics and will return for season 2 of Hulu’s comedy series, Woke, this spring. Her other TV credits include Robbie, Transparent, Inside Amy Schumer, and People of Earth. Sasheer’s film credits include: I Feel Pretty, The Weekend, Yoga Hosers, Sleight, The Outdoorsman and Deidre, and Laney Rob A Train. Sasheer also hosts the Best Friends podcast with her BFF Nicole Byer and serves as ACLU’s Celebrity Ambassador for Women’s Rights.
