Dr. Cathleen Clerkin is a scientific researcher, writer, teacher, and psychologist. She is also the Senior Director of Insights at Candid, a nonprofit data and research organization. Her research interests include resilience; identity and intersectionality; equity, diversity, and inclusion; creativity and innovation; and women’s leadership development. Her research has been published in both academic and popular press and she has won multiple honors for her work, including recognition from the National Science Foundation and the American Association of University Women.

Cathleen holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley; and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Creative Leadership, a leadership development nonprofit; and is an Affiliated Research Scientist at the Center for Effective Organizations at the University of Southern California. She is based out of Charlottesville, VA.
