Shubhi Rao is the Founder and CEO of Uplevyl, the world’s first gender-focused AI knowledge platform. A STEM-trained founder and AI practitioner, she builds at the intersection of technology, enterprise intelligence and the realities traditional systems often miss. Over thirty years across five industries, she started as a software engineer, added an MBA, and went on to hold senior leadership roles at Alphabet/Google, Tesco, PwC, Ford Motor Company, and Tyco International, becoming the first woman and person of color to serve as Treasurer at both Alphabet/Google and Tesco, and building financial products from novel automotive capital markets financing to portfolio allocation technology managing over $120 billion. Five years ago, she identified a structural gap underneath the AI industry she’d just spent three decades inside: the data used to build AI rarely reflected women’s actual financial behavior, career trajectories, health realities, or lived experience. She founded Uplevyl to close that gap, building first-party data on women’s professional, financial, and personal lives directly from the women who hold that knowledge, and using it to power enterprise-grade AI built on retrieval-augmented generation and rigorous model governance.

Shubhi holds a B.S. in Computer Science Engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Shubhi served on the Board of Directors and the Audit and Compensation Committees of Open Lending (NASDAQ: LPRO) and on the board of the International Center for Research on Women. She currently serves on the board of the Center for Global Development, was recently appointed to the Biomedical Engineering External Advisory Board at Michigan State University, and is an Honorary Advisory Council Member of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Shubhi is a frequent speaker, author, and media contributor on the intersection of gender and AI. Her media appearances include CNBC, Bloomberg Tech, Forbes, Fast Company, and The Times, and she is a regular contributor to the Financial Times. She speaks to senior leaders about how AI can help build a more gender-equitable society. In 2026, Shubhi was named to the Forbes 50 Over 50: Innovation list.
