Dewayne is an organizer, movement strategist, and writer whose work centers on human agency in a digital world and the role of men in democratic life. Born and raised in Miami Gardens, Florida, he grew up navigating glaucoma and a speech impediment before competing in and teaching policy debate. He later founded the Youth Education Coalition, building student power on local school boards and leading Miami-Dade’s first student-run school board candidate forums and report cards during the COVID-19 pandemic. His work engaging thousands of voters earned recognition from the National Black Caucus of State Legislators with the Regis F. Groff Award in Public Service.

A member of Men4Choice’s inaugural fellowship cohort, Dewayne rose to the Director of Alumni Engagement & Special Projects, where he has built national organizing systems, leadership pipelines, and multi-state initiatives that mobilize men as active allies for reproductive freedom and democracy. In 2025 alone, he held more than 5,000 organizing conversations nationwide while designing programs that contributed to key pro-democratic victories.

A Harry S. Truman Scholar and Posse Scholar, Dewayne writes about responsibility, grace, and reclaiming agency in a pivotal moment for democracy.
